Gameplay and narrative

The player controls the Drifter, a personality which has access to technologies which has been abandoned by the people of the game’s planet and is experiencing an unspecified disease. The narrative concept was motivated by direct programmer Alex Preston’s heart disorder, and was obscured by others into Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky, while Preston supposes the studio Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind as inspiration for the game’s world. The Drifter has a power sword but can obtain access to other modules which extend their weapon and skill arsenal. Weaponry includes conventional console role-playing game archetypes, such as long-range guns and area strikes.
