A classic daiquiri is the strawberry daiquiri made with fruit, simple syrup, white rum, lime juice, and ice. The first step in any daiquiri preparation is to whip up a quick simple syrup. And “simple” is exactly the right word: just sugar and water heated and cooled, then stored for use in your refrigerator. This will add just the right amount of sweetness to your strawberry daiquiri. The next element is rum, and white rum is what you’ll want to serve. White rum is the traditional way to serve a daiquiri, but we imagine a coconut-flavored rum would also be really delicious.

The amazingly fabulous thing about a daiquiri is that it can be made with a variety of fruits, so instead of strawberries, try frozen peaches or mangoes. And if the rum isn’t your cup of tea, or you’re making this to serve to kiddos, then skip the rum and switch to a lemon-lime soda. Basically, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy a daiquiri! A batch of daiquiris served at a backyard barbecue is the perfect way to stay cool and relaxed on a hot summer day.

Fresh strawberry daiquiri recipe
This strawberry daiquiri recipe with fresh strawberries is incredibly easy and you can make a big batch for summer parties.
I’m not really sure why, but when I think of strawberry daiquiris, I think of the 80’s. Things like parachute pants and rubber bracelets, big hair and Duran Duran. Considering I was barely a “tween” in the mid-80’s and not yet the cocktail connoisseur I am today, there really is no basis for this.
But, here’s the thing… no one seems to tip back fruity drinks with little umbrellas anymore, everything is a “skinny” something or another now. Not that there’s anything wrong with watching your caloric intake, but sometimes a girl needs a drink. A proper drink- made in a blender, served in a pretty glass with a little garnish.
Summer drinks should be ice cold and light. This Blueberry Spritzer is one of my new favs and so is this Strawberry Rose Wine Spritzer. These drinks are great for get-togethers with friends because they make enough for everyone.
Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail
Are you looking for a mocktail, or a non-alcoholic drink? Maybe you are pregnant and you’d like to enjoy a tasty bev, but you need to make it a virgin drink. Maybe you just don’t drink at all, or maybe you want to make this cocktail kid-friendly? Well, here’s how to do just that.
Omit the rum and toss in an extra cup of strawberries. If you are planning ahead, put those strawberries into the freezer for an hour or two. It will help to keep your drink frozen and give it that icy goodness, plus it amps up the strawberry flavor. The rum gives it another layer of flavor, so punching up the strawberry flavor in a virgin drink is always a good idea.
Strawberry daiquiri recipe from scratch
If you’ve never had a strawberry daiquiri made from actualstrawberries, then you are in for a treat. The drinks made from that bottle of chemical-laden red stuff can not begin to compare with one made from fresh ingredients. The sweet fragrance of ripe strawberries filling your kitchen is enough to start your mouth salivating.
There will be no sickly sweet, artificially flavored mixes that are a most unnatural and slightly unnerving shade of red. Just berries, rum, some sugar & a splash of lime juice blended with some ice & you are well on your way to one of the best things you can put in a glass.

Personally, I think the recipe is delicious as is, but if you aren’t a fan of rum, vodka is a great swap.
Simply swap the same quantities and you’re good to go! A strawberry daiquiri with vodka is also a delicious and easy cocktail.
How to make a strawberry daiquiri
For me, this cocktail screams summer. It is THE drink I make when I’m having the girls over. It makes a big batch, which is nice because no one has to spend time making drinks.
It’s a frozen cocktail, so it’s great for cooling off in the warm summer months and it uses fresh berries that are in season. So get some local berries and throw them in the blender, call your friends, saunter out to the porch/patio/deck, put your feet up and put on some of your best 80’s tunes… Cheers!

- Throw everything into the blender & let it rip.
- If you like your drinks a little 'slushier', add in another 1/2 cup or so of ice.
Notes
The number of servings will depend on the size of your glassware. I have smaller glasses, so I get about 6 drinks out of this recipe. If you are using 20 ounce tumblers, you will probably only get a couple 😉

For the sugar rim: If you want to make a sugared rim like the photo - Place about a half cup of sugar on a small plate, wet the rim of a glass with a wedge of lime, then dip it into the sugar on the plate, twisting just slightly in the sugar to get a good coating. Pull straight up out of the sugar so you don't knock any off and set it aside to dry a little before filling your glasses.
